Energy Saving Units - ECOVAP
AMCEC ECOVAP units significantly reduce both the rate and total quantity of boiler steam required
to operate conventional solvent recovery systems.
Steam savings can be 40% or higher year round.
Additional benefits include the removal of solvent traces dissolved in steam desorbate and the
use of smaller condensers, cooling towers and boilers. Some clients have avoided the cost of new
boilers and related buildings.
Retrofitting an ECOVAP unit to an existing solvent recovery system allows the user
to expand the system capacity at lower capital and operating costs.
THE PROCESS
AMCEC ECOVAP unit uses a condenser/evaporator to recover latent heat released during the desorption phase and the condensation of steam/solvent vapors. It converts this heat into flash steam using a custom designed high pressure steam ejector.
